YAGT: How to approach?

I work at a large hospital as a IT Tech and I have been working on one of the pharmacy computers the past few days and noticed there's a new pharmacy tech, she's my age, seems like a nice girl, no rings, she is shy from what I can tell. BTW we around in our early 20's if that matters.

How would I approach her to ask her if she wanted to go to the State fair or whatever else? Would just going up to her and introducing my self be OK or is there a better way?

Please, don't tell me to not date people at work, we would hardly see each other unless I had to fix something in her area.

I realize that, but what I ment was or maybe I should of been more clear, would I do this in private or when her co-workers are around? I just don't want to embarasse or even possibly get her in trouble.

Get friendly with her for a little while, then ask her what shes doing. Easy as pie.

Dont just go up to her and ask her out without getting to know her first - surefire way to blow it.
