Of course...be prepared for the stunning blank stare you will get in return.

The "I have a boyfriend" line is a canned response that many girls will automatically give to a male who is trying to be flirty/hit on thiem. Sometimes it is true but often times it is not true.

This sort of line is a what some people like to call a sh1t test. Girls use these tests to filter out the loser chumps from the cool guys. Loser chumps will say oh ok and walk away or something like that. Cool guys will take the ****** test and use it to crack a joke usually at the girls expense. This is a display of higher value to the girl and the guy can usually continue the flirting after he has passed these sh1t tests and demonstrated that he is not a typical chump. A word of warning though you need to calibrate your response so that you don't come off too cocky. You want to keep it fun and playful.

the key is don't give logical responses to these types of tests.

I really like Pepsei's 'we just met and you're telling me your problems?'. That's perfect in every way. Funny, but makes it clear you don't believe her.

My reply would be "That's fine. You have someone to go home to when we are not out having fun." Said that once to a girl that said she had a b/f. That line got me the digits.

I like this one. I would die laughing if someone said that to me.

Good responses in this thread though. :)

Guy: "Oh, that's too bad, anyways, hit me up whenever you want to party"

In many cases, husbands don't mean crap, you can imagine a boyfriend.
in all honesty, depending on the relationship, maturity, age, etc, you can find yourself being the chicken hawk in many "i have a boyfriend" situation. Don't necessarly give up, but also don't push the issue. Establish your intension, and simply move on.

danny~!

Guy - hey, we should hang out sometime.
Girl - Yea, um, sorry I have a boyfriend.
Guy - .................?

My vote - oh ok, well never hurts to try.

FYI - This didn't happen...I was just wondering what I would say if I was ever in that situation...

Don't get yourself into this situation. IMHO, by the time you ask her out, you should have already known if she's into you or not... if she has a bf or not..etc. just my opinion.. If meeting for the first time, just do a bunch of small talk.. asking the girl out right of the bat is awkward for both parties (unless she's giving you a lot of "signals"...)

Pepsei should get his own section, seriously. I love his stuff. I hate having to run searches to find his new posts. Is there a way to subscribe to a USER? I want to get emailed everytime he posts.

I used to say "whew, I was worried you might be married"

You can usually tell by their reaction to that whether they are interested or not.

Nice but from what I'm gathering from this thread, the guy's response needs to be snappy and witty.

I like the well you have someone to go home to when we're not having fun.

i don't hook up with college women, nothing wrong with making friends, just don't ever cross that line. i get women to buy me drinks (coke) and i don't apologize for that. i do, give my friends advice to get them laid.
