Just picked it up.
I'm not a big fan of the ergo grip that's on it. I have an extra A2 grip or I could choose something else. Any recommendations? I was looking at the magpul MOE grip.

What is it about the Ergo that you don't like? I personally like the Ergo SureGrip better than both the standard A2 and the MOE grip.

I dunno, just doesn't feel quite right. Maybe it's because I'm used to the A2 grip on my 15-22.

Nice Scary Black Rifle, schniederguy.

I want an AR. I was going to buy a 1911 for my next gun, but I think I'm going to go with an AR instead. Maybe I will get an AR, and then trade my Ruger P95 towards a 1911.

In fact my local range has had such an issue with it they flat out banned all FMJ ammo, which is extreme and has angered a lot of members but it was necessary until they can afford some fancy ballistic steel to protect the pulleys.

That's pretty insane. The range I go to has wires hanging off the pulley line and those metal office clips to hold the targets. You get banned forever if you intentionally shoot at the pulley system or clips.

Edit: Commiefornia :(

I want a 1911 but I'm not 21 yet.

I'll probably end up getting a 9mm though, cheaper to shoot.

No no no I'm not talking about the gun.

I'm talking about the gun range. Indoor ranges usually have a pulley and line system to move the targets back and forth. Normally the part where the target connects to the line is protected by a metal shield. Depending on what kind of metal they use you may be able to punch through it with armor piercing, or even regular steel jacketed ammo.

In fact my local range has had such an issue with it they flat out banned all FMJ ammo, which is extreme and has angered a lot of members but it was necessary until they can afford some fancy ballistic steel to protect the pulleys.

The post was not about steel jacketed bullets. It was about steel cased ammo. He asked if posters use steel cased ammo.

Not sure why you responded with a post about steel jacketed bullets, although your info was correct.

Yep, last time I bought ammo it was $10-something a box, locally. Monarch 9mm FMJ brass cased, Academy's house brand, made by PPU. My Ruger really likes it, but it's very dirty ammo.

Though, a box of Fiocchi .45 FMJ was only $2 more.
