YAGT: Girl is allergic to my cats

rudeguy

Lifer
so this girl seems into me, but she is allergic to cats. I have 2 cats that I cannot part with. How could we make this work?

i'm allergic to my wife's cats. the compromise is i take claritin and suffer for her happiness. but i'm not sure if the reverse would work or not.

What happened was, Rage187 tried to make a joke, but it wasn't a joke: it was more of just a sentence.

and a worthless, unoriginal one at that. Isnt there some kind of age requirement around here?

Allergy shots. Her life will be better (even if she doesn't stay with you).

And she will feel miserable for that 2 years...
/me remembers the horrible memories of allergy shots

Couple of things to try,

People are allergic to 3 components of kats, dander (most common), hair & saliva. (it would be helpful to know what she's allergic to)

Try bathing your kitties weekly & keeping the house very clean, dust frequently, vacum every couple of days, buy an air filter or 2..., keep one in the bedroom if the relationship has progressed that far, and make your bedroom off limits to the cats.

The theory is that it provides a clean room to recover in between bouts of exposure.

My wife is very allergic to cats, so we have a Devon Rex (very minimal shedding) and a sphynx (very little hair)

She does need to use allergy eye drops if she rubs her eyes after petting a cat.

We also need pics to really hepl you...

thanks for the ideas. I have an air purifier, and keep the place very clean so that should help right? I have been keeping the bedroom off limits to the cats ever since the condom incident. (dont ask)

as for the pics...I will post them as soon as I get them (maybe later on tonite)
