The question is, how much do you care about style? If it's important to you, consider her suggestions, she may have better taste than you.

If it doesn't matter to you, let her dress you. She almost definitely has better taste than you, and you can give up the responsibility of buying your own clothes for as long as you're with her. My wife dresses me, and i couldn't be happier with the arrangement. I look good, and don't have to worry about the details. Of course my wife is a very good shopper and isn't a slave to name brand, so i look good on a good budget :)

Over the years, I've noticed a couple of things...
Say a guy has always gone out "with the boys" on Thursday nights...He gets married, and she tells him that he can continue that as long as he wishes...(many other scenarios, just using this one for an example)

Fast forward a few years, and she starts complaining that "he has changed", when in reality, he has REFUSED to make the changes she wants him to make...

How about violence against men?

Changing a mod edit is a bannable offense. See you in a month.

I've been here for years and never heard that changing a mod edit is a bannable offense. How are we expected to know these things? Plus it doesn't look like he changed it, just posted a question in response to it.

It's not automatically a bad thing that your gf wants to "improve you", but context matters. If you asked for her advice and she comes up with a long list that's fine. If you're telling her that you're happy how you are and she's nagging you to change, that's a bad sign because she's embarrassed of you or dissatisfied with you.

I'd say that you should let her change your style. This will make you more attractive for your next gf, regardless of what happens.

I've been here for years as well, and there is one and only one rule: Forget the rules, just don't piss the mods off. They will bend or create them as they see fit, and you'll like it.

BFT!! If she wants to spend the extra $50 per garment for the name brands then I will wear them for her. But I'm not putting my own money out for something like that.

Question:
I don't see what he changed in the mod edit.
Did he actually change the mod's words or is any addition to a post after a mod edit the problem?

Actually I do think thats a valid question.
Was the offense changing the mod's words or editing his own words after the mod edit??

"beat the truth into her" isnt the way to go. however, she needs a "smack" (not physically) to realize.. that this is who you are. she knew it going into the relationship. if she dont like.. show her the road. it drives me nuts when i hear about women that try and change 'their man'. course, i dont like it when the role is reversed either. hey, why not give her a taste of her own medicine? suggest she take up aerobics, get a boob job and do something with that 80s hair style. :)

Are you 15? Tell her you don't wish to change as there is nothing wrong with you now. Unless you do in fact dress like a tool.

Edit: I would say that's a female mod, you know...in case no one else picked up on that.

Tell her that you think she should get breast implants. Turnabout is fair play and since she wants you to change your look...

1/2 of the replies here are about the ban while the other 1/4 is about the problem and the remaining 1/4 is just random.

Five bucks says he doesn't have a girlfriend.

(I stop by this forum every few days and always happen to find a thread about him and a *gasp* girl)

If you want to stay the way you are, don't change. It's easy. She doesn't like it, she can go pound sand.
Obviously, part of a relationship is being flexible with the other person. If you're not, you'll be single for the rest of your life.

Or, just dump her and go find a chick who likes your style.

So given how most ATOT nerds dress:

- NVidia t-shirt
- Levi jeans
- Costco boxers
- Shoes from Mervyns

Yes, let your GF change you if you are like the description above.

And by designer what do you mean... Lucky brand jeans? Seven jeans? Or is this the typical ATOT-doesn't-know-about-fashion thinking that brand names like Express and Gap equate to designer...

Obviously she liked you the way you were or else she wouldn't be with you. Well anyways you are too young to have a girlfriend. You are only allowed one until you are 25.

Do guys actually wear seven jeans? if so I shudder at the thought...personally I can understand having nice clothes, but spending over a hundred bucks for a pair of jeans is sheer lunacy unless your one of these pop tarts who makes their living looking "hip"...being someone who works in an office I wear jeans on the weekends at most and at that point of the week I certainly don't care what I look like.

And a stylist?? reminds me of when I was getting my hair cut last week, the place used to be this semi run down joint that charged a flat $12, I liked it cause I would leave a nice $6 or $7 tip for them and they would just cut my hair, nothing more, nothing less...well it got bought out by a national chain or something, now they pretty much shove a shampoo down your throat, they raised the price, and they sell things like "guy lights" or highlights for men...the second I saw that poster I vowed never, ever to go there again...horrible.

If she just wants you to stop shopping old navy and get something a little nicer like Eddie Bauer or something then whatever, see if the store has anything you like and then start small, but if she wants you to drop tons of money on high fashion items trying to look like something off of TRL then I would say tell her it isn't going to happen as not only is that an expensive waste of money, but from the sounds of it..it isn't you. Luckily my wife is a Scientist (not to stereotype) but she really thinks most fashion is silly and a waste of money, if anything I am more fashion forward than she is which isn't saying much...makes my life easier though.
