YAGT: Another clueless geek seeks advice from ATOT

So I was looking for a new apartment and getting the impression that the realtor who showed me the awesome one I am actually taking has the hots for me. I could see her eyes dilate every time she looked at me, & seemed really interested in what I do in my spare time, what TV shows/movies I watch, etc. She seems to watch even more classic horror films than I do. She looks pretty hot as well. We talked a lot in between places we were seeing. She kissed me (on the cheek) out of the blue while I was signing the lease, and I sat there like a dumbass afraid to hit on her and make a fool of myself confirming she is married. (The one thing I kept noticing, which made me keep from pursing it, is that she has an obvious wedding ring on.) Some friends have suggested that maybe she wears the ring just to scare away guys she's not interested in, but it really looks more expensive than something a girl would buy herself. Especially when she says she's jealous of the place I'm moving in to.

She has since then called me several times at work, to confirm they got my employment confirmation, to have my old landlord talk with the new place, to have me call to schedule a move-in date, to confirm this call, etc. many more phone calls than with any previous move, and maybe this is just a desparate struggle to get through my thick head or just to talk to me, heh -- seems odd that its the realtor who calls me every time, not the building management -- I know she is friendly with the head of the leasing office; maybe she is in on her crush on me?

So how do I know if there is really something there or it's just my wishful thinking? Should I call her up and invite her to the new years party at my boss's place?

everything other than the kiss sounds like a sales pitch to me

the kiss though, thats weird. if she is married, i would not get involved, but its at least worth finding out for sure...

If you find her flirting with you again next time just say, "cut the crap, I know you want my nuts." Then give her a good bonin. Couldn't be any easier then that.

First off confim she is married. If she is married then stay away. If she is so easily willing to "forget" she is marrried so she can flirt with you what makes you think she would not do the same to you if you were to form a relationship with her. You need to stop and think about yourself here and if you would be ok with that kind of behavior in a intimate relationship.

Personally I know realtors make good money and do go and buy really expensive things for themselves. The ring may look expensive and "more than a girl would buy for herself" but if you have the money to do it then why not? Bottom line confirm if she is married. Bring up the subject of kids, if she says she doesn't have any ask her why not or better yet simply state "Just havn't found the right one huh?"... Then you have a whole avenue of ways to find out if she has a boyfriend or even more so a husband...

Keep us aprised...

Next time she calls, invite her over to the new place just as a casual get-together...rent a classic horror flick. 🙂

And then knock the bottom outta' that.

No More Mr. Nice Guy Forum

Problem with most YAGTs is that the OPs are "nice guys." They don't take responsiblity for the actions, they have "unwritten" and often unknown "contracts" with people. They feel they need to approval for people to have any self-worth.

OP, there is simply no excuse getting involved with a married woman. At all. But me thinks this is teh parogay of something...hmmm..

Here's the reality of the situation:
She IS married.
She wants your money.
Your new apartment really isn't that great.

LMAO, first post is a YAGT, so who are you really?

Some of us would rather not make YAGT posts under our main aliases, for obvious reasons I would think.

So I should call her up and say "hi, are you married?" Sounds pretty awkward... or wait for her to call again on that?

No, to be honest i intentionally submitted that incomplete to reserve a place on the first page. I know stupid but still... No go back and read the complete post. It should be mor enlightening. My apologies to the anandtech intarweb forumz community

TBH it really looks like she was just being friendly rather than 'im interested', especially with the wedding ring. If I had to be with a client, for a couple of hours, house to house, id make nice small talk too. Leave it at that?

Ya know if you don't have anything constructive to add to a "OFF TOPIC" post, just don't post. If you don't like YAGT posts don't click them. Some other users like helping others, you should not feel obligated to do so or to restrict what is OFF TOPIC and what is not... 😉

While making small talk, ask her what her husband does. If she isn't married, move ahead. If she is, run away.
