Give me some ideas on good acoustic songs to learn. I need to get better at this. Things like Crosby, Stills, & Nash, John Denver, Neil Young, James Taylor, etc. I don't even really listen to those bands so I don't know any of their songs, but I want to learn that style of playing. Mostly fingerpicking. Campfire songs. Stuff people like to hear.

Pearl Jam - Just Breathe
That is one of the songs I am working on. I think it is pretty easy for real guitarists.

Kansas - Dust in the wind, is the same type of pattern.

Neil Young - Old Man

Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd

I've been playing for just a few months and learned this one in a couple of hours on a Saturday. Stupid me didn't think that there are probably a few hundred tabs for it on the interwebz. Instead I tabbed it by watching live performance vids.

Anyway, it's not particular hard, though it won't sound exactly right on a 6 string since it was written ona 12. The picking part is basically a G Chord, and then the chord progression is just 4 chords with the middle two inverted the 2nd time through.

Try it. Almost everyone knows it. And they'll think you are a helluva lot more talented than you are (I am awful, but I can play that one).

I could hit you with a bunch of 90s indie rock songs, but I doubt that's what you want.
