ok, so I'm not listening to you guys - yet again 😉 Decided a multi angle approach:

1. yes, i'll make a move on her. She's going to be sleeping over for 2 weeks and, well, if she doesn't want to be my friend after that two weeks because of a move I made, fine.. I have plenty of friends

2. getting a very attractive friend of mine to join us for dancing to make her very, very jealous... my friend agreed to lay it on thick 😉

3. dinner, theater, flowers, art shows.. the whole 9 yards

4. i've been going to the gym everyday for the past month, another month (she gets here on the 24th) can't hurt my looks

5. gay roommate is taking me cloth shopping again - i'm going to look the best i've looked since she met me.

any other serious suggestions?

Uhm... Dont try too hard. Sounds like you might come off as the "nice guy" if you go overboard. IIRC they don't often get the girl. Play it cool and keep her interested. If you make a move and get shot down it's over.

umm seriously, the most 'mature' way would be to just tell her how you feel; cut and dry straight to the point; but this isn't how many girls work. Guys as well as girls enjoy 'the chase' which entails flirting, laughter, much time spent together, and most of all comfortableness. If you feel comfortable with her and she feels comfortable with you then I dont think there is much to worry about.
Girls know just as well as guys do when two 'like' each other, its not written in a book, there is no guide, you just know and then you give it a shot and hopefully it all comes through. If a girl likes you then she'll let it be known, if you like her you should as well.

Seriously, don't overdo number 3. You're trying to build attraction, and you can do that without spending a single dime. A night of talking and building rapport in the living room or out in a random place will do more for your cause than the most expensive restaurant or the most impressive art show. Have some different places in mind so that if she wants to eat or see some kind of show, you can give her a choice, but don't try to do them all.

Working too hard to impress her will only work against your cause. She'll see that you think you need to impress her with things outside of yourself and actually be turned off by you lack of confidence. Remember you want to get her focused on you, not things and places. She can get those things and places from other guys. Show her your personality, make her laugh.... impress her with the things that make you unique. And please do not get her flowers, they're only useful after you've got her.


Edit: The other stuff on your list can only help. You do have to make a move, but make sure it's not a blind one. First build rapport, then make the move. If you're trying and you can see that she's not into you, know when to cut your losses.

i had a looong conversation with my bro - ok, he's not my brother but he's my older and wiser friend who's like a brother to me. Convinced me that I should treat her like I would treat him if he returned after a long abscence - buy her a welcome back dinner and nothing more. Of course, be a gentleman but i'm not dating her - I shouldn't pay for her. He's right and i'm acting accordingly.
