The reason why there are so many climate change deniers in the US because the average American has never really observed the effects of climate change at the local level. They've mostly been fed(largely by the mainstream media) an all-encompassing simplistic overview of the complicated dynamics of large-scale systems and high-level mitigation policies discussed at a political level where there is a natural distrust of the people involved in the entourage of international climate meetings. All they ever hear about are pacts, treaties, subsidies, laws and regulations, to be dispensed from above by the political class, to supposedly avert an impending crisis.
