YAG (and jewelry) T -- I am the worst shopper ever

It's getting towards that time where the girlfriend is hurting for a little bling bling (apparently the cds, books, etc. are starting to wear on her).

My current plan is to go into some store that sells jewelry and prostrate myself, asking for assistance. The problem is, I really have no idea where to go.

So, anyone know anything about it?

She wears pretty simple stuff-- her fanciest jewelry is a set of a ring with a pearl, earrings with (small) pearls, and a necklace with one pearl in the middle. What kinds of stores are good for modest pieces (particularly in silver)? I'm talking pretty inexpensive too, as we're both starving grad students.

Yeah, most girls i know are the same. White gold/platinum are the fad these days it seems.

Anyways, i absolutely hate shopping for jewelry. From my personal experience, if you're unwilling to spend more than $300, then don't bother with jewelry (unless it's earrings).

Well since you're just doing silver, then it should be ok with that kind of budget. Real diamond earrings are good too, i'm not too sure how old you are, but most teenage girls haven't had real diamonds before, so that could be a good one.

EDIT: oh, if she already has some necklaces, you can just get her pendants.
