Without periods, she probably has Polycystic Ovarian Disease. It is a miracle she could concieve. I know I tried for years to have a child, but could not. I couldn't even ovulate with the help of fertility drugs. With PCOD, you have too much testosterone in your system and it battles the normal female hormones and causes weight gain that is practically impossible to loose. I've batttled this problem since jr. high. Once the hormone problems hit, I started gaining weight that I could not loose. I've gone one strick 1000 calorie diets and gained weight. It is the nature of the disease. I'm sorry that so many of you think being fat is funny. I promise, we'd be thin if we could, but with some of us, it isn't overeating, it's an acutal physical problem. There is actually a chance that now that she has had a successful pregnancy, her hormone levels will come back to normal and she'll be able to loose the weight and have more children. That's what my doctor told me when I was trying so many years ago. Godspeed to this blessed couple.
Im happy for her that she was able to have a child of her own after reading the entire story. I hope the best for them and their new family.
