Roster position breakdown and is it a PPR league? This should really be standard with all these FFL threads popping up.

Regardless, in almost any case, I'd take Rudi. Anytime you can get a top back on a winning team without giving one in return, I'd take it. Gore looks pretty decent, but the 49ers aren't going to win that much and that means less touches for the RB.

Oh, and I'd go with Joe Horn, even if Rod Smith didn't have a concussion.

I'd do it. Your RB positions would be unstoppable. You're giving up less for more.

hmm..not sure...gore is off to an impressive start, and Andre Johnson is a very good receiver - Houston stinks, and is going to be throwing the ball a lot all season

Horn or Smith don't help you at all, and your WR corp is very weak, with Randy Moss being at best a #2 WR this season - again

If you don't do the trade, you've got Alexander and either Gore/Jones to play, if you do make the trade your #2 RB is all set, but your WR's are a mess.

That's pretty much why I asked whether or not it was a PPR league. If not, you make the trade 100%, no doubt in my mind. With those two RBs, it hardly even matters who you line up at WR. You can put together a decent enough WR corps to compliment Alexander and Rudi that will be favored almost any week.

If it IS a PPR league, then WRs become a bit more important and the deal might give me pause. However, I still think I'd pull the trigger because Joe Horn isn't THAT big of a drop off from Andre Johnson.

no, it is not a PPR league and I know my receivers are pretty weak... but receivers are a volatile position anyhow

Now he wants Randy Moss as oppsoed to Andre Johnson.

I'd be left with

Andre Johnson
Joe Horn
Michael Clayton
Isaac Bruce
Greg Jennings

as my receivers

but would have
Shaun Alex
Rudi Johnson
Thomas Jones
Dominic Rhodes
Samkon Gado

as my backs

A wide receiver-back? :p

Anyway, Andre Johnson only had 688 yards and 2 TDs last year (13 games, but still)... He's young, but hardly top-tier.

Joe Horn had 654 yards and 1 TD last year (also only 13 games), but he had 11 TDs in 2004. With Brees >>>>> Aaron Brooks and the Saints having life, I'd almost rather have Joe Horn now that I look at the stats.
