Slim pickings for our 14 man league ... I'm first on the waiver and was considering picking up glen coffee(RB), but was wondering if I should opt. for favre or sanchez instead for future trading?

Definitely Farve. With a name like "Sanchez," he must be Mexican...and Mexicans play that "other football," also known as soccer. He'd just try to kick field goals instead of passing...:p

To be honest, that may not be terrible advice... though Sanchez is an unknown in this case.

I would expect Favre to be a good pick for maybe the first 8-10 games before he goes downhill fast. By all rights, he can be a stellar QB for the whole season, especially if Min. relaxes him by using their running game as they should - he could potentially make it through the whole season comfortably. However, being that he is Brett Favre - attention whore, I expect him to throw more than he justifiably should given the backfield Min. has, meaning he'll wear himself out.

IMHO - Favre = good first half of season starting QB, but make sure you have someone solid for the second half of the season.

Better yet, just get a good QB in the first place that will go the entire season for you posting decent numbers.

sanchez is going to get pounded in the cornhole like he was in prison

at least with favre, you'll get half a year of decent games before he throws his arm out and starts throwing pick 6's all the damn time.

that was my thinking. favre is going to probably have some solid numbers for a while, especially since AP will be running the ball and they wont be relying on brett to throw all day like the packers did in 07.

I do have a solid QB in Brees, I'm hoping to get some trading value with Favre+another player to bolster up my RB section which is kinda weak. Thomas Jones, Derrick Ward and Jamal Lewis are not the best guys.

Waivers went through this morning and picked up Favre ... hopefully, he can perform well and I can trade him for a decent RB.

I've got Carson palmer and Brady Quinn. I'm not sure if I should take a chance on Favre and drop one of them or not.
