YAFFT: Fantasy Football Question

Spooner

Lifer
Week 10:

Keyshawn against Philly's D. Keyshawn's been decent with 4TD's 506 yards receiving.

Santana against Baltimore's D. Moss has been a dud all season, but came alive last week with 157 yards and a TD. Also worried with Pennington's injuries that the Jet's passing game will fall apart.

Thoughts?

Yeah, Moss has been terribly inconsistent and is going up against the best defense in the NFL (I don't care what anyone tells you), while Johnson is going up against a team that will run the score up, forcing Dallas to throw a lot.

Poss is at 4-0 right now, and I think that about says it.

Jets have more weapons other than Moss. Dallas has nothing but Keyshawn.

So i would go with Keyshawn

Keyshawn. Though they're both facing pretty good secondaries, only one of them is facing it with their BACKUP QB. 🙂

On a related note, anyone have any thoughts on Warrick Dunn for Anquan Boldin straight up?

I know I am in the minority here, but Moss finally had a good game AFTER Quincy Carter came in.

I know it is against Baltimore, but I think Moss will have a good game.

Yeah, I have some thoughts on it. Who the FVCK wouldn't do that if they were getting Dunn? Boldin's good, but he's not THAT good.

Given the questions you've asked, I can only assume you're near the bottom of your FF league, unless you just drafted ridiculously well.

Hmm...no. Actually, I'm in first and have a desperate need for a receiver with Randy being out. My league only starts 2 RBs with no flex spot and both CMart and Dom Davis are past their bye weeks. I also hold both backups (Wells and Jordan) to my starting RBs. I offered Dunn around and the best I could do was David Givens or Anquan. Unfortunately, Givens ended up getting dealt to someone else. I originally had Issac Bruce for Dunn but the other guy decided not to do it and made a different deal. My other WRs are Horn, Bennett and Jabar Gaffney. BTW, we start 3 receivers. Without Moss, I start all those remaining guys. Best wideouts left in the scrub pile are Az Hakim, Stallworth, Parker & Ferguson. My thinking is that Dunn is losing carries to Duckett more and more and there's only a spot start here or there in the remaining weeks where I would use him over CMart or Davis. That is why I ask. I recognize it's not necessarily a great deal, but it fills a need for me and doesn't give up anything too essential.

You are right. Guys like Ilmater tend to go on either a) name recognition or b) RB always > WR. I think it is a very fair trade, in fact I'd probably rather have Boldin. Dunn is at his all time high and will start to lose some carries. Boldin was a top10 WR last year with over 1000 yards. Take Boldin b/c Bennet and Gaffney suck. In fact I'd probably drop one of those guys and snatch up Hakim. He should see a lot of single coverage with Williams back, and Detroit simply cannot run the ball.

keyshawn, becuz i believe philly will have a nice lead, thus forcing dallas to chuck the ball a lot.... even more so then they would normally.

Thanks for the FF wisdom. 🙂 Actually, Gaffney has been a lifesaver for me the last three weeks. He's given me no less than 8pts a week (1 pt/10 yds) and filled my WR hole admirably while Moss has been out. Bennett is definitely looking like the odd man out here, especially since McNair has inconsistent at best so far.

Is Parcells going to stay with Testeverde?

I'm still leaning toward Keyshawn, but do not want to lose another breakout game from Moss as I did last week by benching him.

Other receivers I'm starting: Mushin Muhammed and Brandon Lloyd.

Thoughts on the best three for Week 10?

Yes. Henson will not start this week, or next week. If they lose both of these games, you MIGHT see Vinny on the bench come the Chicago game, but I still doubt it. Vinny has not been the problem with Dallas, thus Parcells isn't gonna bench him. He isn't that kind of coach. His press conferences are hilarious, I love the way he rips reporters.

Ya, I was a little behind on Gaffney. I guess it depends on your league scoring but he has been racking up the yards. After further review of the play, I'd drop Bennet for Hakin personally.

That's tough. I would think that Quincy Carter would look for Moss b/c Moss is the most talented receiver for the team. But they are playing a tough Defense. I'd probably play Muhammed, Keyshawn, and wait to see if Rattay or Dorsey start. If Rattay starts then I'd play Lloyd. Otherwise I'd toss the dice with Moss.

santana moss better not have a breakout game against the ravens. i have them as my def!

but seriously... i don't think the chances of moss having a 10+ point game are very good against the raven def.

I agree on the Rattay/Dorsey deal, but I'm almost certain that Rattay is getting the nod, and he has been passing to Lloyd on a number of occassions.

I believe in Moss and know he should be coming around, but am not convinced it wasn't just a fluke of a game and he will return to getting 2 or 3 catches for 13 yards.

Moss had 6 for 157 and 1 TD. He recieved two of those from QC, 1 for 15 yards and 1 on a broken play for 51 yards and the TD. So he had 4 for 91 from Pennington and 2 for 66 and a TD from QC but 51 yards and the TD came on a broken play.

Keyshawn, Muhammad and Lloyd are probably your best 3. As pointed out here before, Lloyd and Moss are a tossup though. Carolina and Baltimore both have decent pass defenses. If they both end up playing with their backup QBs, then give Moss a little more consideration.
