Yet Another Frys Combo
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ & ECS KN1-SLI Lite motherboard, socket 939, nForce4 Ultra, $159.99

I just noticed this on the LA Times online ad site, but it could be from a monday insert, and I just could not read the fine print about when its good, but once a Frys combo shows up, it does tend to repeat. It looks pretty hot to me.

PDMUYOA! Pls don't make up your own acronyms... you coulda said Frys and I wouldna bothered looking. Hot deal otherwise.

If it is from the Monday insert it may be a dead deal because the Monday ads expire on Tuesday. Unless it has appeared again in the Wednesday insert then the deal has expired for now, but you are correct that the deal will probably show up again soon. Maybe at that point it will be good at Outpost.com as well. If you have a local Fry's you can always check the price by calling them up and giving them the SKU# for the combo. (In this case it is #4762129)

Sorry for no link, but the LA Times ad page really had very little additional info, as I said I couldn't even read the dates on the ad (its not part of the .pdf you download).

This is a HOT board, a bit of searching gave some reviews on the Extreme version which were very good, and the Lite only seems to be missing the second RJ45 (still has 10/100/1000), and has 4 instead of 6 sata ports. Not a high end board, but a solid upper mid pack for 939 and SLi. Prices seem to vary from about $80 to $110 on ebay etc for new in box. If the combo returns for $159 ish, it makes a very tempting hot deal.

One complaint I read was about the PciE only being 8x in SLi mode, but who is going to buy $100 MB for a couple $400 video cards?

Only reviews I found were for the Extreme, not the Lite, so hard to say how well it works. When the deal rolls around again maybe we will find out more.

Saw this board at the local Fry's. The coils mounted on the MB doesn't look too good. The ECS NF3 or NF4 939 appears to have better construction. Our local Fry's has this item for $200.
