carpenter has been pitching above avg. since joining:

STL 15-5 3.46 150 SO 1.14 WHIP last yr.

heck his stats look good, see if you can get someone on the same level as him, if not, hes gonna perform anyway.

Smoltz is very ideal, but also a great risk.

Im just saying. Im not convinced with him yet, One good year does not a good pitcher make. Look at Esteban Loaiza for instance.

Im just saying. Im not convinced with him yet, One good year does not a good pitcher make. Look at Esteban Loaiza for instance.

that's true. but most pitchers who go to the yanks (who are young) usually get pounded. Ted Lily, Javy Vasquez. Kevin Brown got owned. Carl Pavano recently got owned.

yeah because they have to face the red sox and orioles and blue jays 19 times each ( the team does, not necessarily the pitcher!)
