Won a couple auctions in Sept for Laptop Repair (apparantly a common problem for HP DV6000 AMD/Nvidia machines). Prior to this, his feedback was pretty decent.

Basically, you pay $75 + $25 shipping (x 2 for me), you send in your laptop, he fixes them, he sends them back. His last e-mail was around Oct 10, but haven't heard anything else, since the negatives started coming in.

Even if I were to get my $$$ back from PayPal, he still has my two laptops. Am I completely screwed?

yah... good luck. It seems like all his positive comments were from repair kids. All the laptop repairs are the negative comments. File a police report and hope for the best. Might even get to the FBI? since its a interstate issue?

If he cleans out his paypal account then you get ZERO back.
 
sounds like that laptop was junk anyways... assuming you sent it in for a bad board. Those failing nvidia chips... don't see how you are going to get a "good" board for one of those.

Either way you'd only be looking at most $75 +/- s&h to get back. Facepalm of a transaction on o/p's part
