YAET: Cancelling an auction that has already ended

I bought an item on eBay, the auction description said Paypal payments only. I tried to pay with Paypal, it said the user no longer accepts Paypal payments. I e-mailed him, he said he only takes money orders now. I don't want to pay with a money order, it offers me no protection from being scammed. He has 22 feedback (100%) and it's not an expensive item, but I'm a bit suspicious that his Paypal account was apparantly unexpectedly suspended/closed/whatever. Can I get out of the auction without risking a negative or being reported for non-payment?

You should be able to. Contact ebay and ask them.

If he says he accepts paypal in the auction, then he has to.

If the auction said Paypaland now he says No Paypal, then you should both agree to cancel the auction since he had false informatino in the auction. Or if he doesn't, then just don't pay anyway. You can easily leave him negative feedback and give a simple rebuttal if he gives you some too.

contacting ebay will get you nowhere...i have tried on a couple of occasionas and got NO response what-so-ever. Only if you go through their stupid "squaretrade" where you have to pay $20 to get someoen to listen will they resolve anything.
You were bound to get that negative at some point in time and getting a non-paying bidder isnt the worst thing in the world...i mean they barely take action on them (I had filed one against a guy and all they ended up doing was letting me relist my item)
