tried to contact the seller but he wouldn't say anything until i filed a dispute with paypal

here is my email to him:
Come on man, please just email me back so we can get this resolved! sd450 came in a timely manner, with visible signs of use (as was described in the auction) but there were 2 large dents on the front of the camera (very noticeable because of the reflective metal) and the lcd on the back was cracked. Insurance was not available, and $20 was charged for shipping with ~$2 of actual postage used. Item was put in a padded envelope by itself (not wrapped in anything).

and his response:
I understand your concern and apoligize for whatever problems this may have caused you but you received exactly what the auction said you would. I clearly said that the camera was used and had visible signs of wear. As for the dents I did not feel that they were that big of an issue as they had no effect on the camera's performance at all. The lcd works fine and if you have tried using the camera so far you can clearly see that the pictures are top quality. The packaging was all the post office could offer for such a small item. Had they had a better option I would have used it but when I went in they said that the padded envelope should be sufficient for shipping the camera and I took their word for it. Again I am sorry that you are unhappy and would like to know what you expect to happen. Please let me know what you are thinking about the issue as soon as possible so this can be settled.

I would keep the camera if i was reimbursed ~$40 - ~$50 do you guys think this is realistic? I can get some pics up of the camera (sd450) and the packaging (padded envelope) which i doubt the PO recommended.

edit: original auction description: (used)
This auction is for a Canon PowerShot SD450 Digital Elph camera. The winning bidder receives ONLY the digital camera itself. There are no accessories included as I recently lost them and bought a new camera. It is in good condition, only has a few minor scratches and what not but is in perfect working condition. It takes both pictures and videos and does so with great quality. The winning bidder will be happy with their purchase. Good luck.

Another reason to use CC. Which if you happened to use... do a chargeback.
