is it right to email them asking for feedback?

I sold something and they received it about a week ago. I left them postive feedback once the sale was complete, and I still have received none. Should I email them?

I left some guy like 5 emails, the first to verify that he did indeed receive the item the second to make sure it was working ok, and to see how he liked it, the third I asked him to post an evaluation if he was satisfied, the 4th and 5th were reminders, after that I gave up.

I email people often asking to leave feedback, whether I'm the buyer or seller. Many sellers refuse to leave FB until the buyer does. I hate them! Of course the seller should leave FB first. As a buyer, I refuse to leave FB first out of principle.
So, many sellers I email refuse to leave FB, or some, whether buyer or seller, just never leave FB and don't email me back.

I always email people for feedback when I have transactions on ebay, if they haven't given any within a week after I have left them feedback. I still only get about 85% of people to leave feedback.

I would send an email just to make sure they are satisfied, and in the email include a link so they can easily click to leave you feedback.

I say something like, "I have left you positive feedback for this auction. If you feel it is deserved, please consider leaving me a positive feedback by clicking here ...(link)... . "

I have quit buying from sellers that don't leave feedback, and use the "ask seller a question" to let them know why. I once bought from a seller who had 7000+ feedback, and only would leave feedback for his buyers if it was a negative. I didn't check ahead of time and he never left me a feedback. Now I check in advance, and make sure I tell them why I wouldn't bid on their auctions. If you have time to leave negs, you have time to leave positives too.

as a buyer i leave feedback once the item gets to me in one piece. actually i had an item break during transit and the seller worked with the PO to get an insurance claim, so i reflected that in the positive feedback left.

as a seller i leave it once i receive payment.
