My first idiot buyer. I just got this email from the guy who won one of my auctions last night:

From: "Alessio Rotondo" <uoexpert@hotmail.com>
Date: Mon, April 19, 2004 2:38 pm

im sorry, i purchased this stupidly. i did not need it. do you mind if i do
not pay? i will give you very good feedback still. and if its possible can u
gimme good feedback too?

From what I was able to lookup on Ebay's help info, it says I have to file a non paying bidder to get my listing fee refunded? Here's what I think is the process (please correct me if I'm wrong)

[*]File a non paying bidder claim
[*]Relist item
[LI}If item is sold, first listing fee will be refunded
[LI}If item is not sold, first listing fee will NOT be refunded and I'll have to pay for both listing fees

If that is the case, is there anything I can do about negative feedback if he leaves me any? I have a feeling he just bid to "buy" some positive feedback.

why not just have him pay any fees you are out and have him pay for you to relist it. Thats fair. We all make mistakes.

WINN4R!!!

screw the bastage. dont leave him feedback until the 89th day, then leave him a negative. he wont have time to retaliate, and it will be a well deserved negative.

Plus the item sold for only $.34. I think I'm going to tell him to just pay up.

not naive at all, im just not paranoid like most of the people on here. I tend to give people a chance first. If the guy atleast pays the fees he's out then whats the big deal really? If he doesnt want to pay any fees then ofcourse file.

Edit: Just saw the selling price.. hahah thats pathetic. .34 cents and he wont pay? Bah make him pay it.

That's what I was thinking. I need to check what the time limit is on filing a non paying bidder claim. If it's also 90 days, then I'm good to go :)

I usually say "Ok, but can you send X dollars to cover my listing and final price fees or I will have to file a nonpaying bidder to recover what ebay charged me. Please get back to me as soon as possible..."

Everyone has been understanding and sent me money to cover fees or just purchased the item.

Where's the link to the item? What were you selling for .34 cents? Ultima Online swords?

What were you selling that ended at less than $1 anyways? and how much were you charging shipping?

free shipping :)

LOL, WTF was it? A postage stamp?

Make him pay it. You have to be an incredibly cheap bastard to be an NPB on a $0.34 item with free shipping.

86.7% feedback rating
4 negative totals.
The negatives all say the same thing. Won the item but refused to pay and requested positive feedback in return.

If you leave him a Neg now he might bid and win your auctions in the future just to leave you a neg or several. If he don't care about his rep.

free shipping and final price is 34 cents? Your insertion fee was 30 cents. Your final value fee is maybe 2 cents. If he uses paypal and pays you -- YOU will owe money on the deal.
IF I were you, I would move on.
jeez, all this for 34 cents
