I've noticed that sometimes when I list a new auction, it takes a while to show up in the ebay search results. Ebay has a disclaimer saying "it may take some time for the auction to show up yada yada..."

I'm just wondering:

1) why is there this delay?

2) does anyone know how long it is usually delayed? i haven't sat there searching for my own item over and over

eBay updates every few hours. I have had auctions take as little as an hour and up to four hours or so before the auctions show up for browsing or searching. It really is just luck of the draw as it depends on when you start an auction and when they do their update.
