Think cheapest first class air at the post office to HK assuming it's under like 13 ounces is around $5~7 and it takes 10 to 14 work days for arrival without any tracking. Lots of things go missing from customs and fees on incoming parcel in Asian countries. At that point I think you've paid more than the item was worth. ~1 monthand -$5 total from the auction experience just because you feel that the item wasn't real? Cmon be realistic now, there is no pride or being a good samaritan involved in the whole situation...

Ps. I think it's cheaper for overseas to ship here than USA to there.

What did you expect for $5.30?

Yes, the auction states "official" but come on ... for $5.30?

BTW ... do they work? If so consider yourself fortunate.

This.

$5 and shipped from China/HK. Come on OP; are you really that dumb?

If they work, who cares what kind of screws they were put together with?

Overly sensitive, much?

Your making too much out of $5.30 item. Wasting everyones time.
Only because the ad implied something when it clearly wasn't what is really is. I figured it'd be a fake, but I thought I'd give it a shot because of the price, and because of what he claims the item was (official. Nintendo brand, etc). If the item costed more, I would have not bought it given it's coming from HK/China, and the fact many people complain the clones die after a few weeks. So, I'm not expecting the full refund, but at least have the seller be honest of what he's really selling instead of telling lies.

Overly sensitive I am not. I have disassembled the nunchuk and have proven wrong the seller's claims.

These are pictures of my nunchuk's pcb:

Here's a link to the Japanese version (you can tell by 白 and 黒 on the bottom right)

and a link to the American version:

Therefore, the controller is not official, nor is it OEM. It is a very good clone though.

An original equipment manufacturer, or OEM, manufactures products or components that are purchased by a company and retailed under that purchasing company's brand name.

OEM refers to the company that originally manufactured the product.

Example:

Company 1 produces widgets for Company 2.
Company 2 sells the widget under their more successful name.

Company 1 can sell the same widget as an OEM replacement for the item, since they built it.
Because it is not being sold under Company 2's more successful name, it will probably be cheaper, but will be identical (minus any branding)

Well for computer parts OEM often is just the same exact product sold under the same brand name only minus the retail packaging. So OEM Western Digital drives are branded WD and everything else is exactly the same only they come in a static bag with no accessories, manual or anything. Not sure if this is quite what you are saying above.

Err... Does it work or not?

And why would you go through all that for $5? Wtf? Id just use them anyway, who cares if they arent official

Yeah serious for $5 I would just expect them to be fake right off the bat. If it works OP just use it.

File complaint. Call and explain it's counterfeit, refuse to ship back to seller, unless the return will be paid for. Be prepared to write up some official documentation, and photos discerning difference between official & bootleg. Just get started on that now to save trouble when they ask for it. You can get your full refund & not have to eat the cost of shipping.

LOL @ expecting to get a legit controller for $5.

Not worth the effort for $5.

I disagree. If a nunchuk on Amazon costs $15 shipped, a legit nunchuk for the same price is very possible.

A prime example of something that was cheap and legit are the OCZ Vertexes that were going for $60. They retail for $300. There are many good things that can be had that are real for cheap.

Shit, if they work, that's a pretty good deal.
Well no shit. Otherwise, the seller would have to refund everyone's money and consequently, lose their amazing feedback rating. It's not a matter of if they work now, it's a matter of how long.

So you expect to get a controller delivered from Honk Kong for a third the retail price (including shipping) and you don't think that's unreasonable? In that case, I would like you to take a look at a bridge I have for sale.

Hey maybe you'll get them for free now, do a chargeback. Sure it's cheap as hell anyways, but the seller shouldn't be falsely advertising either.

File a dispute with paypal - item not as advertised. Show that they advertised that these were supposed to be official, or whatever language they used.

Of course, you'll lose. Ebay/Paypal are more than happy to put up with all the cheap counterfeit items, because they still make their cut of the profits.

You have to admit the buy is well worth the bang for the buck.
At $2.50 a nunchuck vs nintendo's $60 or whatever. It's like buying walmart shoes vs air jordans.

"Item location: Hong Kong ship to all over the world, Hong Kong"

Everyone knows that Chinese can't create anything original and everything is copied and mass produced for less than 1 penny. :)
