YAE(Email)T: I emailed regarding superbowl party

Ok, I have a superbowl party to attend to on Sunday, well it is sort of a pot luck lunch at 2:30pm followed by game at 5-5:30pm. Considering how long these games last, I am unconfortable staying at friend's place for 9-10 hours.

So I emailed the host saying that ...

"Game starts at 5-5:30, so are we going to meet at 2:30 or is there any change of schedule? Just curious."

I think I was very polite and professional in asking this. Before that, he emailed me original invitation, noticed the time of meeting which was 2:30 again, but forgot about it.

The host emails me back with 30 seconds as follows:

"Haven't you read the first email I sent in detail? Don't waste my time repeating it. Go back and read it."

I am pissed off but just trying to keep my cool. He was unprofessional (remember we are not buddies) and very rude in this email. That jackass does not have email ethics and I guess don't know how to talk to people.

Now my question is:
1- Should I email him back with bad words? and go to party
2- Should I email him with words "Gotcha, thanks for kind words" and go to party
3- Not attend the party?

Cliffs:
1- I email friend confirming Superbowl party time as 2:30 instead of 5:30
2- He replies with rude language
3- I am in dilemma about my plan of action...see pohl.

Please keep this thread sane and clean, no flamming replies please.

dood...be a man...show up late about 30-45 minutes before the game, bring a 30- pack, and enjoy the game!

Dude...you're a 'tard if you come here to ask for advice.

That being said, if someone emailed me like that I would tell them to go ****** themselves...seriously.

okay now you just sound like a tool. Please don't attend the party and just go watch Lifetime instead. I'm sure you'll be happier

forward that email to everybody and say new party at your house 😉
original host not invited

Haha! That would be great.

It looks like you should have told him what you were thinking rather than sending a vague question about when it starts.

Let the little things slide ... is it worth getting worked up over?

- or -

puke in his potted plants

why dont you just stop being a jackass and show up later or leave early if you don't want to stay so long?

this sounds like a win-win to me.

Sounds like Mosh has more balls than the OP (I mean that in the nicest possible way Mosh 😉)

Why are you trying to be professional with your "friends?"

Those are the last people I'm professional with unless I happen to be in a work environment with one of them.

While I do think his response was a bit harsh, I don't quite understand why you would email the host asking about details that he already outlined in his invitation. What were you expecting as a response? Were you afraid he changed plans without telling you?
