I'm not ranting for myself.. but for my brother-in-law.

At one point about 7 months ago, somebody tried watching alot of ppv channels while the box wasn't plugged into his router. (I'm guess it was probably my little brother while he was staying there) Of course, nothing went through.

Yesterday, he plugged his DTV box into his router.. and then all of those ppv purchases that didn't go through 7 months earlier where queued and sent.

He found that out today while checking his bill. DTV pretty much told him tough shit. Who would have known that those would have stayed queued up for 7 months to go through the second it gets plugged into the net?

And to conclude this message, I'll end it with an obligatory, "Cool Story Bro".

They do make parental blocks... DirecTV is kind of a dick about PPV movies though. I ordered two movies because it was a buy two get a $4.99 credit and they never gave me the $4.99 credit despite calling numerous times (all I heard was lies.)

I'm a big proponent for DirecTV (In my neck of the woods all we have is Charter and surrounding areas have Mediacom so it's pretty horrible) and think that DirecTV is a lot lesser of the evil but they're like any other company...

Here is what happens on that btw...
When you get the box it has $50 in credits on it. Basically it lets you watch PPV while the box is not hooked up to directtv.
If you spend the credits and hook it up to directtv, it will bill you, even if months later....
Not directtv's fault... Should have put blocks on it.

I used to work in one of their call centers, this is SOP. if you watch PPV and it gets saved on that card it's on there forever until it's downloaded, either by it phoning home, or by you sending the card in for replacement/whatever. You will get charged.
