YADST: Match.com

So I just signed up only to find out that even if you're a paid member and e-mail someone they can't reply unless they are a paid member too. What a rip! Can they still read your e-mail? Does this site filter out contact information from your e-mail like some of the other ones do?

i went with eharmony.

while i havent got anyhting serious, i made a few new friends who i talk to on a weekly basis. so its already been worth the $$

they can read your email but Match will actually edit your emails if you try and put an email address or screen name into them. so if it sees the word "at" or "@" or "AOL" or "IM" it will cut those words out of your email. I couldnt beleive it when i found this out for the first time as it is said no where i can find on the website.

that's why you make your match.com/eharmony handle the same name as your instant messenger screen name 😀

Anytime I got a match on there, I would never get a contact back from them. I later found out that BOTH parties have to be subscribers to email back and forth. Its not worth it.

match.com doesn't allow you to use the same username as your email. :|

Someone should start an off site database of "username" --> "Contact Info" 🙂
