YACT

i was at a bar watching my friends band play, when the dj says someone with a car like mine needs to come up front.. at first i thought someone hit it or something.. but I found out the guy who used to own the car I just bought had ridden by on his bike and came in cause he wanted to talk about it. I bought the car from a honda dealer, so we never had contact before. I got his number and stopped by his house the next day. He had a custom fiberglass sub box for it, fits 3 10's and has a custom amp rack... also had custom kick panels for it.. thats nice becaus I was about to buy kicks for my components, and like days before I planned on ordering them he came around... i bought the kicks and sub box from him, so i will, starting monday ( i work all weekend) begin hooking this stuff up..

anyways, the coolest thing I learned is that the car's interior was stripped and it was completely dynamatted, 3 layers.. i knew the car seemed quiet, but now i know why! anyways, how much would it cost to have that done? i'm thinking probably $1000 in materials plus that much in labor?

are those rsx rims on that accord? that looks really good...

yes sir. im thinking about replacing them with bigger acura tsx rims.. the guy who sold the car kept the 18's he had on it, and bought the rims from a scrap yard so that car had wheels... those were what was there that day that would fit the car so he bought them and put new tires on. i like them too, they fit the car well. im not in a hurry to change them. i wouldnt mind having them painted gunmetal metallic though...

Those RSX wheels look good on that car actually... very clean, this is the type of "modded" car I like to see personally.

he actually had a performance chip and a supercharger with 8 pounds of boost to give it more torque... he said it was doing about 290 at the wheels on the dyno with the sc. He took it off and sold it, but he's an automechanic by trade, is a licensed comptech dealer, etc. so if I want one put on, he said he would be able to do it because he knows the car.. i love this car!

I think I remember your thread when you were buying this car. You wanted to switch kits with another red accord right?

What are you asking for a labor estimate on?

to strip the interior and dynamat the car.. the doors, the floor, the roof, etc..
Sub $1000. At least around here.

what about materials? I'm thinking, based on dynamat pricing, it would be like $500 or more depending on how much was used..

what sucks about the dynamat is that stuff is about a pound per square foot. 3 layers is probably at least a couple hundred pounds added to the car. but if you care more about audio than performance, i'm sure it's nice.
