any other recommendations? should I spend the extra money and get a certified pre owned Acura RS-X?

which RSX trim? i'm assuming the base RSX because the RSX type-s is manual only. it depends how much extra money. the RSX base isn't that much faster than the civic since you're going for an automatic.

Don't fall for the longer term small payments nonsense. If you would be happy with a less expensive car, it's going to be worth it to have those extra 3 years of $350/mo in your pocket.

yeah i have no idea how you can compare

a civic, an rsx type S, a ford escape and and an rx8.

i'd get the type S personally. you can get a pretty decent used one like say a 2003 one in socal for like $15-16k which is awesome. friend of mine got that. woudlnt be much more than a 2004 civic, and you'd get a lot more standard features (well unless you got a fully loaded civic).

that said, the rx8 is a gas wasting machine. i mean i've haerd its great to drive, but it gets like 14-15mpg. not sure about the escape at all, i've not driven too many SUVs, but i suppose that ones seems decent, and fords are typically pretty cheap.

rsx type s only comes in manual.

yea, when im ready for a fast car like that, im getting an S2000... thats something im set on... then I will get a manual... until then I want a nice driving car, preferably a coupe, or a small suv like the escape...

i dont know..... brand new Ford Escape, no interest for 60 months... a 2004 Civic, a thrifty buy, or an certified Acura RS-X with remaining warranty for a few grand more than the civic...

Id get a civic.

Maybe look at subaru if that floats your boat

Rx-8 is likely to be to expensive for you in the long run. Rather expensive to run compared to other cars
