Alternatively you can slice it thin, heat a stone plate and just put the fish on it. It will cook from the residual heat in less than no time at all.

Third choice is to eat it raw, sushi style.

I've seen that emulated in an oven. Works ... moderately well, but you've got to mind the searing if you use a metal pan.

Heat a couple of tablespoons of olive oil in a pan.
Cook salmon on medium heat for about 6-7 minutes. Season with salt + pepper.

Remove from heat, and spritz with lemon.

I want to cook this in the oven. Any ideas on that?

1. Unroll enough aluminum foil to wrap the filets completely.
2. Cut Lemons into 1/4 round slices and spread onto foil so the filet lays on top of the round slices.
3. Clean Salmon by rinsing with fresh water.
4. With skin side down, lay filet onto lemon slices.
5. Evenly coat the non-skin side of the filet with olive oil.
6. Gently rub the dill onto the filet (add to taste).
7. Place another layer of lemon slices on top of the filet.
8. Wrap the filet and close, do not wrap it tight keep a little room so the steam can circulate inside.
9. Preheat grill or oven to 400 degrees (F).
10. Place filet on grill or middle oven rack.
11. Cook each side about 15 minutes based on 1" thickness.
12. Check periodically for completeness.

Baked is easy, too:

12 ounce salmon fillet, cut into 4 pieces
Coarse-grained salt
Freshly ground black pepper

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.
Season salmon with salt and pepper. Place salmon, skin side down, on a non-stick baking sheet or in a non-stick pan with an oven-proof handle. Bake until salmon is cooked through, about 12 to 15 minutes.

(ripped that one from Foodtv.com)

salmon has always been easy to prepare, imo. pan-seared with just a little seasoning and it's very tasty 😀
