YACT: You to program keyless entry remote - 1996 Mustang cobra

Did you have to buy a new remote? Is it factory or after market?

Update. My friend suggested this. For factory units

1. Insert the keys in the ignition and turn the ignition switch from OFF to RUN, five times within ten seconds, ending in RUN. If the vehicle has successfully entered the program mode, it will lock and then unlock all doors automatically.

2. Press ANY button on a keyless entry remote transmitter and the doors will lock and then unlock to confirm that each keyless entry remote transmitter has been activated.

NOTE: When the first keyless entry remote transmitter is programmed, all existing keyless entry remote transmitters are erased.

Factory Remote from Ford, but it didn't come with instructions.

And I'm enjoying the car, except for the lack of keyless entry 😉

this is correct except the fact that you might have to hold down one or both buttons on the remote while switching on and off. DONT crank the engine, just go from off to run

How much does a 96 cobra cost? I see prices from like 10k-35k and everything else depending on condition. What's the HP?

305hp, 300ft/lbs tq. Mine cost $9000. I can't see any reason at all why a '96 would go for $35k. Maybe $15k with no miles in perfect shape.

Mine has 115k on it, but it seems like it's been treated pretty well for most of those, you can't tell it's got that high of mileage on it.

This is correct for the factory system.
