I know about brakes/tires, but my point is this. Do you think that Lexus (Toyota) would change something so significant on the same platform?

We're not talking about the new '06s, but the '05s, which (if I remember right) are the same as the '98s.

GS400: 98-00
GS430 gen 1: 01-05
GS430 gen 2: 06-?

I think that that's actually the same "gen". Besides the engine upgrade, I don't think that there was an actual platform upgrade.

Just like when the changed the engine in the S2000 from the 2.0L to the 2.2L.

you are driving at 70mph where the road has a traffic light on it? i don't care how much the speed limit it. you just deserve to die

Where'd you get those numbers from?

05 Lexus GS430 weight - 3715 lbs 60-0mph @ 129ft

How can it get worse? Did they forget how to make the car brake?
more crap added to car
Did you put any thought into it before you posted?

Adding 25lbs to the car adds 16ft to the braking distance?

change of the brake booster, change of the wheel cylinders. there is a couple of things

and yes, adding weight will change your braking difference, although I didn't catch that it was only 25lbs difference, oh well

I wonder why they would downgrade parts and lose that many feet? It seems like it wouldnt be worth saving the money
