if you take care of any car from any manufacturer, it will last a long time. end of discussion.

What's defined by "care"?

Let's redefine reliable and long lasting. None of you people have anything on this guy. The miles vary by when the article was written.

Volvo gave hime a new 780 after he hit the first million miles...

BTW, love my Taurus with 177,000 great miles. Alternator and Starter were replaced after 100,000+ miles. Should last to well over 250,000 or 300,000 with the 3.0 OHV engine.

I think Toyotas are probably THE most reliable Japanese cars (not to say Hondas aren't reliable). BTW, i'm a Honda owner.

i have driven most toyota cars and i must say that they're boring to drive (again, besides supra, landcruiser and 4 runner).

i'll take an accord over a camry any day of the week.

Most people don't care how boring.. or not.. a car is.

Just A-B, or praticality.

I believe you're thinking of the Toyota Starlet.

I also don't see what all the fuss over Toyota is. As someone else stated, if you take proper care of almost any car from any manufacturer, it will last a long time. I will say that Toyotas seem to thrive on abuse and neglect though.

as Eli said, most people don't care if a car is boring or not. Practicality, gas mileage, and perceived reliability are seemingly the only factors influencing the average car buyer. That's why it seems that all of the interesting cars get killed off, while boring middle-of-the-road common junk gets pumped out by the millions.

It seems that trend is finally starting to turn around a little bit, but who knows.

OMG, laughed out loud on that 'ish! :D

Honda Step Van. What will they think of next? Better question: What kind of person will buy it?

actually... if those ever came to the u.s., i'd seriously consider buying it. i just like the boxy look. i'm sure that's just me though. seriously though, google up pics of the xc. sure, they're all lacking in horsepower, but they seem like fun rides.

one reason i like toyotas is that body parts for them are relatively cheap, given their popularity on the road.

when we bought the mazda protege, i chose that over the camry because i felt the steering on the camry was a little too tight. i preferred the loose steering of the camry.

No that's not true. They care about status.
