I have a 2002 ES 2.0 that I got used with about 2K miles on it for 14K out the door, one year ago. With the rebates though, you can get a new car for that price now.

Corolla is just too boxy and high a ride to be appealing to me.

Corolla.

Get TRD springs to lower it a little (it's way too high stock)..then pick up the TRD supercharger this fall, and you'll be all set... :D

I admit, I'm biased..'98 with over 126k on it; still runs like new.

Edit: Go for a 5sp if you can - they're a bit quicker than auto..and a LOT more fun to drive.

lol, i was waiting for you to come in this one. :p

yes, def. lower it, tho i doubt you can convince your parents you NEED a supercharger ;)

and if you can, of course, go 5spd on either car, makes it much more enjoyable.

I saw a Scion yesterday on the freeway coming home from school. It was the larger "boxy" one. It did look pretty cool. My only complaint is that it comes with the Echo's 1.5L engine rated at 105hp. Granted its a light vehicle but 105 is pretty anemic in today's horsepower race.

My 2003 Corolla has been great. No troubles except for hail damage.

I have an especially potent hatred for all things Toyota. Think of the car that Peter Gibbons drives. That's what Toyota is all about.

My only hate for Toyota is their freakin' advertising. Their cars are great if you like them. I find my parents' 2000 Camry to be on the floaty side myself and the 4 banger anemic. Course, that's just my opinion.

ditto

i test drove a 2003 corolla and it sucked. it was an auto and the tranny won't downshift on the freeway even if i floor it, it was slow as hell. I chose the sentra over it.

Auto == teh suck. :p

I'd much rather have a SER Spec-V than a new '04 Corolla..but I'm going to hang onto my car for a while.
