The newest Honda's are having issues with their Automatic Transmissions. I know a few people that have had theirs replaced, at least they were under warranty though.

Civic or Accord... It should just come down to price and whether you want the larger size or not. I like my Accord, but I miss the size of my Civic.

Accord. I'm not answering the next poll because both of those cars are patently brutal.

find a nice low mileage mercury cougar or ford thunderbird in these years: 1992,93, 96 or 97 with a v8, avoid the v6
avoid the pre 92 years and 94. 95 is so so

I owned a 92, 93 and 95, bought the 92 and 93 new

the 93 V8 was a great car I sold it at 180,000 miles for 3 grand

the best buy in a used car is a merucy grand marquis/ford crown vic, 1999 to 2002

easier on gas than you think 17 to 18 in town, up to 25 or 26 on the highway. I average 22 with mine

best used buys

Yeah, you don't need new. If you're not going to get the ion redline or the cobalt SS they'll just be nasty econoboxes, much like the civic, though at least the civic is a honda, so you can put a million miles on it and sell it for 99% what you paid for it :)

i cant afford 22 mpg anymore. im on a 20 mpg right now.
i cant afford the redline, or the SS although the redline base price is 20 G so GMS would be about 18, its still over my budget.

i really really dont care about resale, i want something thats gunna last, and warranty is a very good thing, hondas i trust, but i also trust GM vehicles, never owned one with any problem. and the extra incentive that its new is nice. im going tonight to test drive a cobalt.

Is the Civic or the Accord the EX?

If the Accord has power windows, locks, etc, go for that. If not, get the Civic.
