The Vette LS1's list as higher HP....Where are they gettin the extra ponies from? Better breathing?

I think it's mostly in exhaust/intake, so yes, better breathing. I also heard that GM underrated the LS1 in Camaro/Firebird so they wouldn't steal the thunder from the Vette costing 2-3x as much.

Could be from intake/exhaust, more than likely the car is de-tuned via the computer.

Question 6-9: How much horsepower does the LS1 really have?

Answer: GM's 305hp rating is extremely conservative, they didn't want the LS1 f-body to steal any of the Vette's thunder, however it's commonly known that the F-body's LS1 makes pretty much the same 345hp as the Vette's. They generally put out the same hp to the rear wheels.
