YACT: what is window regulator?

Try to find these stuff to fix my dad's Ford Tempo power window. The motor is working but window is not moving. Seems like the gears are slipping. Someone told me I need to replace the window regulator, but I can't find them anywhere. My local dealer said Ford no longer produce the parts. All I can find online is motor with gears.

You have to get the entire window regulator unit now that includes the motor.

Part of why new cars suck, they make the parts over complicated so you want to take it in to the dealership.

Do it yourself though.. they are very easy to do.

Edit: Look on ebay, there are swarms of them

Edit2: wow not for the Tempo though... that sucks

The gear stripped. FOrds are notorious for that failure.

Be VERY careful doing the work (it WILL suck too), take your time, you will save $$$

As Iamwiz said, a junkyard can be a good idea - you can figure out how to remove them w/o damaging your dad's car, but the gears may be brittle..
