YACT: water spots from hell!!

yes they are from hell i say!

my area has super hard water and it is the worst i have seen ( i moved here not long ago)

stupid me, i left the car outside and water spinklers sprayed all over the right side

as for the body of the car, i have gotten some rubbing compound but i have to be careful not to damage the paint

as for the windows, omg it is almost impossible.

I have used vinegar, CLR ( calcium lime remover which is supposedly super potent), and windex to no avail....

i just ordered some stuff over the internet that is supposed to get the spots out...

any suggestions? I would really appreciate it!

I feel for you. I dread washing my cars in my area because of the white crust that the water leaves behind. If I don't immediately wipe the car down after washing, then I have a disgusting white crusty film all over the car. Not as much of a problem on my silver car, but on the dark green one it looks aweful.

amish

was thinking the same thing

it's messed you cant get water spots off
i just wash my car again and chamois it... it's black too.

Uh... I've never heard of this problem.

If you get water spots on your car, spray more water on it, and then towell it off instead of letting it dry. Seems simple to me.

Assuming the residue left behind was dissolved in the water in the first place, you shouldn't have to use a strange chemical concoction to get it off.

I feel your pain, I have a black car and water spots are death to jet black. I second the clay bar suggestion.

i have the same problem.. the thing is my car is gold colored.. so even dirt doesnt show..

but the water spots problem is quite sickening.. i just deal with it.. when it gets bad i use a squeege and take teh white out of the spots.. the rest i dont care.. as long as i can see out of the windows.

those claybar things are so cool. the surface on my car was so smooth after I used it.

I love using a clay bar! Just remember that if you drop it on the ground, throw it out. When it starts to get dirty, just fold it, and use a new clay surface.

Try using Meguirs polish and wax. If you got any windex on the paint, I guarantee that the wax is gone from those areas.

I'll bet you a dollar that those spots arent from ground water, take your car to a bodyshop and get an estimate and ask them what they think the spots are from, 100% chance they say acid rain.
