Here is my question:

Does anyone know of a way to get into a high end full size SUV for $400/month?

I want to own it when I am finished paying. That is my primary concern. I am looking to get out of the leasing game.

How high end are you talking about ?

are you talking in the 50k's range ?

40k's range ?

if you want 400/month payments you better be willing to put up a high down payment.

that and like 6-7 year financing

Does your price include insurance? Are you willing to go used? Also, what do you mean high end? Cars like X5, MDX etc??? If so, you can forget about it unless you put down almost half of the total payment. Just to give you an idea, I'm financing a 30k car (Mercedes C class) for 5 years and my montly payments alone are $500. And that's after I put down a few grand.

Edit: If you're lookign into pricing you may thing about purchasing leasewizard software. It has a database of all currently available cars. All you do is select a car, options, financing options and it gives you you monthly payments.

I'm talking like 30K-40K, and yes I am willing to go used if I need to. My priorities for this next vehicle are:

- leather
- premium sound
- 4x4
- big motor
- side impact airbags
- 3rd row seat (this is my wife's thing - not mine)

I'd also like to get into a DVD player for the kids for long trips, but that is a secondary question.

Have you considered the Honda Pilot ? I think that has 3rd row seats.
That's I think around 30k for the EX version, might be less, might be a bit more.

The trailblazer I've heard has some quality issues. People with 1 year old vehicles are reporting squeals and squeeks, etc. Kind of makes me leary. I've heard good things about the Envoy.
