yact: Tiptronic manual mode = same gas milage as manual tranny?

or will it be worst gas milage because i still have the torque converter and now i'm doing the shifting instead of the more efficient computer?

hmm...depends, i almost exclusivley use the tiptronic mode in my father's audi, and i get pretty decent numbers, within 1mpg of letting the computer doing it by itself.

Your tiptronic does not have the same gear ratios as a manual, which is the main reason why manuals get better mpg.

actually some cars are going the other way on the stickers. Cause they oddly gear manuals a bit lower(?) so on the highway your reving higher :confused:

Remember, it isn't the ability to manually shift gears that makes a manual a manual, it's the manually-operated friction clutch. :)
