v6 is faster in straight line, but handling is not as tight and its heavier.

Tsx is pure joy to drive in corners as well as straight.

Accord has rommier interior.

If you want something more sporty, get TSX. if you want more comfort, get accord.

both are great cars.

i was looking more at a coupe, which I dont think is roomier. The sedan to me... is just unbelievably ugly

Can you even get an Accord V6 with a manual?

Yeah, but I think you have to get the EX-V6 with the 6-speed.

... Aww, you'll just have to suffer. 😉

And Aimster, please stop posting random crap in car threads until you actually learn what you're talking about, "kthxbai".

Isn't the 6-speed manual only available in the Accord coupe? I guess it depends if the OP is looking at the 2-door or 4-door...

While it probably isn't a big deal, the TSX requires premium fuel and the Accord V6 runs on regular.

accord coupe > tsx

everyone and there mom has a tsx, so it isn't all that unique.

i doubt the resale value, as a percentage of what you pay, is any worse on the accord than the tsx. and because the accord is less expensive to begin with, your absolute loss is smaller.

I do know what I am talking about if I go by my original source:

This is the magazine where I got my times from:

2005 Accord Hybrid: 1/4 15.2 (they even said it was the fastest accord they have ever tested)
http://www.caranddriver.com/article.asp...ion_id=3&article_id=8779&page_number=4

2004 Acura TSX
1/4 15.6 (manual?)

I think so.
That alone would make me vote TSX.
the Accord sedans look retarded.

It's too bad the TSX isn't the Accord here like it is in Japan, it's way nicer.

I got both..

Handling: TSX has much better handling, I can't seem to get my accord to feel like a TSX, got HR springs, tokico shocks strut/sway bars... still doesn't feel anything close to a TSX.

MPG: The old Accord runs on regular, the new accord (7th gen) runs better with higher octane. I get about 27 MPG with the TSX, about 25 with the Accord

Lights: HID vs No HID. Yes, I like to blind people

Speed: Accord are faster, good luck trying to find a 6 speed v6 on the coupes, not every dealer has one. Faster = worse MPG.. so take your pick. TSX has optional comptech supercharger - its on comptech's site. Its in the final phase of development. TSX also has Hondata, giving it +29 hp & +256 ft/lb of torque. Hondata may release kpro engine management and then it's all over.. there are also performance cams and better after market junk for the tsx. I think the TSX lacks torque big time.. I like the feel of the accord's torque better. I believe C&D got 0-60 on tsx at 6.5, so it depends on the driver

http://www.hondata.com/reflash_tsx.html
'05 version are not out yet but 05 supposely gets higher HP with hondata but thats not confirm yet..

Size: accord - large (sits 5 great) and tsx - smaller (sits 4 great). Accord has bigger trunk space, tsx doesn't

Interior - similar, i got nav on tsx and no nav on accord

Cup holder - accord has like 8, tsx has 2

My snow tires from accord fits my tsx 🙂

BTW: Honda - 3 year warranty
Acura - 4 year + 24/7 road side assistance, XM radio plus you can buy extended warranty near the end of 4th year w/o any problem. Depending on dealer, you get loaners, etc, better service..

thanks for all the info. The new accords actually come with XM as well (at least the one I test drove yesterday did. Standard with the V6 I believe)

Wow, you managed to discount your own opinion in the second sentence of your own post.

Congratulations!

any other suggestions for cars that I should test drive in this range? I drove a mazda 6 yesterday. Criteria: japanese or german. New. sedan or coupe. Maxima/Altima maybe?

My friend works at a Nissan dealership and he said they were offering the 3.5 SE-R for $5,000 off sticker last month. Might want to check that out.
