Parents are thinking about one but wanted me to look around a little first. First off since I know how everybody on this forum is big into resale RESALE DOESN"T MATTER. The car will be driven into the ground and will be totally worthless by the time my mother is done with it. The SX/wagon version with AWD is $17k or $15k without AWD and comes with 155hp and 152ft-lbs of torque so it should have decent power and they thought it had plenty of room. Comes with a 10y/100k warranty and the way she drives that would probably last for the full 10 years so that would be nice. So anybody know anything about Suzukis cause I don't :)?

What's their price range?

Honda and Toyota keep running even when you beat on them all day long :p

I would look at used subarus, hondas, toyotas, and nissans

I actually like that car, but I don't know much about dependability. A friend of a friend has one, it's pretty cool, and defintiely has enough power for most people, that's actually a lot of power for a car that size.

The price range is $8k-$30k. They are a little broad atm from used volvos, new ford 500, used 2 seater sports cars, to the more practicle things like this :). They are all over the place rightnow. My mother's 300k mile 96 t-bird may have finally died and they went to a new car show over weekend and she liked this one and dad likes that he could pay it off real quick. They still have an extra 91 bravada beater for her to drive around in so they aren't in a big hurry but are starting to look.

If you're going to spend $17k+ for a wagon w/AWD you might as well go for a Subaru Impreza RS Sport Wagon which is a much better car.

Costs $2k more and has half the warranty.

Worth the $2K more and doesn't need the warranty. ;)

Remember, you still have to add stuff like ABS to Suzuki's price, which comes standard with the Impreza.

I'd buy an Impreza if I could afford it, but the Elantra Wagon is about as good as I'm going to get.

ABS is only about $500 and it comes with everything else she would ever use. People I know there are other cars out there and they haven't ruled to many out yet. I am just trying to figure out if there is anything worng with this one to rule it out other then you don't like it. Its not my first choice either.

I don't know where you're seeing the price, but the Aero SX w/AWD & ABS is the same price as the Impreza.

Impreza RS Wagon: 18,095
Aero SX w/AWD and ABS: $18,294

The Impreza is just a totally different class of car, and you get a better engine, 165hp.

I'd encourage your mom to go down and start test driving cars. You never know, she could be happy with a Hyundai too, which has that same 10yr/100k warranty.

Impreza is $19,470 your cheating by using MSRP on the impreza and a manual and a loaded sticker aerio and suzuki has 0% financing compared to 1.9% of subaru which adds up:). They really don't need AWD and that would drop another $1k off the aerio. I know they are going to go test drive other cars. All I want to know is if there is anything wrong with this one.
