I am at my friend's house changing his plugs and he has a Buick Century 2001. The firing order is 1 2 3 4 5 6, correct? Well.. in what order do they go in starting from the left. I am having a hard time with this. Any help will be appreciated.

More likely, it's 1-6-5-4-3-2.

If you look down on the engine, one front cylinder is slightly ahead of the one on the other side. The farthest front is #1. It may be numbered on the intake manifold, just at the cylinder head.

Never, never, never pull all the plug wires at the same time. It's a b!tch and a half getting them right again. Firing order depends on the car. On my 914 (flat 4) it's 1-4-3-2. On my old Accord (inline 4) it was something like 1-3-2-4. Not sure what it is on the 924S or on the Mark VIII. The Mark VIII would be even harder to get right since it doesn't have a distributor, instead it has two electronic coil packs so it's not easy to figure out in what order the wires are getting power.

Get a Haynes manual. You're gonna need it.

EDIT: According to a google search, the firing order for the GM 3100 V6 is indeed 1-2-3-4-5-6. Linky
