YACT: Sound system replacement/upgrade in a Subaru WRX STi

Anyone know what size speakers it can hold?

My brother is getting one but it doesn't come with a radio/CD player or speakers, and we don't want to get the stock ones installed.
That means we are gonna need a CD receiver(hopefully w/ MP3 support) and speakers. Any recommendations would be great.

Check out crutchfield.com. They usually have guides that tell what speakers fit in what car.

For the money that a factory system would cost, he would be better off putting in an after market system.
I would reccommend what ever he does choose to have it professionally installed.

Check out the nasioc.com forums and i-club.com forums, you can get much more specific information there (this kinda question gets asked very often there too so there's tons of info on it). Most people have been able to fit 6.5" in the front with spacers, and 5.25" in the rear with spacers. I think the normal stock sizes are 5.25" front and 4" rear.
