What you dont know about many of us Vietnamese, is that we like to show off with fancy cars and clothes when we go out, but live in crappy houses and neighborhoods.

And $700 would put me back about half a year with no income. Dont have a job anymore, long story.

Well, that is why I don't like to stereotype, as I cannot relate to it being such a mutt myself (German/Irish/French/Cherokee)

Obviously, as you have already realized, you will need to admit this to your parents. Again, not to stereotype, but I am sorry. Maybe your mom will see this as a modest mistake, and be nice about it. Then again, maybe she will treat it as if you just knocked up some whore with herpes and want to marry said whore, I don't know.

I wish you luck, but seriously, that is part of the Mercedes "thing", you pay more for parts and quality repairs, C230 be damned...

I love how white people call themselves "mutts" because they're a few Caucasian races with a little bit of "Cherokee".

Could be a lot of a Cherokee. How do you know what percentage he is?

As for the car bumper, Captain Howdy is right. You'd probably need a new bumper cover which will cost a couple hundred plus whatever they charge to paint it to match. I had to get my rear bumper cover replaced on my Contour SVT and those things are dough because the bumper cover on the SVT is different from the standard Contour bumper. Best price I was able to find a new one for was 1000 online plus the plastic grill in the bottom of it. With the work to paint it it was $1800. Luckily the persons insurance paid for it.
It's because the bumper covers are cheap plastic now, when you scrape them against anything 9 times out of 10 it's gonna gouge the plastic. I suppose you could use body filler on it, and sand it smooth, but I don't know how well Bondo adhere's to plastic. Only way you're really gonna know is take it to a shop.

I really try not to stereotype, but honestly.

  1. You are Asian
  1. Your mom has a Mercedes
  1. You damaged the car while parking

That being said, you are looking at a remanufactured bumper cover with paint (as well as blending) for probably about $700

If that bumper cover can be repaired without reman then it will be a bit less, but paint is where they get ya. And please do not take it to some cheap shop like Maaco, they do poor work, hence the price.

You forgot to mention the Cell Phones as well!

Yeah, you got it pretty good. You might take some paint cleaner (non-abrasive, like Meguiars paint cleaner) and rub it with a soft clean cloth to see if some of that will clean up.

It also looks like her car could use some new rubber.

Tell her about it and then tell her you'll pay to fix it.. and do follow through with paying to fix it or else you will look like an ass.
Honest and personal responsibility...huh, what novel concepts!

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about repairing it as it looks very superficial. You could try using a clay bar on it. I had a scrape about 8 inches along on my door and with enough pressure, I managed to reduce it to about 2" long. But then again, I was working with metal while you'll be working on plastic so you wouldn't be able to use as much pressure as I did.

I REALLY hope you're 15 years old. Really.

You're not a decent driver if you can't park. Be real.

If it is white paint on the car it will be possible to remove it with some rubbing compound from walmart or an auto parts store. It looks like from the picture it might be paint scraped off, which is much much worse but it's not the end of the world.

lol, a taxi hit my bumper a couple months ago (2nd time a NYC yellow cab hit me) and my bumper looked way worse than that, and all I paid was $100 bucks to fix. Looks absolutely perfect too. (06 Civic coupe)

Thank god I found someone who I can trust with paint jobs. 🙂

Look around, it shouldnt cost too much to respray that.
