YACT: Some small annoying probs... easy to fix?

My 03 Mazda6 is about 10 months old and I started to notice few things:

1. The steering wheel makes a long squeaking noise when making a sharp turn at very low speeds (5-15mph)
2. The break makes a long squeaking noise when I press on it gently for an extended time.

Warranty, seriously it could be a number of minor things. I would look at the power steering fluid level, dust or splash shields around the steering column or linkage (tie rod ends), and brake pads and/or the hardware.

long squeaking noise sounds like PS pump - check the reservoir to see if it's at the right level and inspect the rack/hoses leading to/from it for leaks - very strange problem for a car that new though

brakes - more likely to be an annoyance than a real problem - but also very odd since it's the first set of pads and (i'm assuming) low mileage
