YACT: So this couple wants to buy my 2002 Civic using a broker.. help

So I got in touch with the couple who wants to buy my car today.

They said they are using a 3rd party to handle the transaction of my car... a company called "Virtual Loan"

The couple needs the name on the title of the car, my home address, and my home phone. The people buying my car basically said that Virtual Loan will pay off Honda and then mediate the sale of the car (using power of attorney, bill of sale, odometer statement, and all this other crap).

Anyone done anything like this?

I haven't done anything involving a third party to sell a car, but I'd certainly be very careful. Make sure you check everything out -- when they say they will pay Honda, verify that the amount is indeed paid off before handing over the title / keys to anyone or signing anything. Don't sign any paperwork other than the bill of sale -- you never know what kind of small print crap they might throw in there, including holding you responsible for future repairs or other such nice surprises.......

I agree with the above. The only document you should sign is a bill of sale, and make sure you read over that carefully as well.
