Your income?
Retirement balance?
Savings balance?

Odds are a new car is about the worst financial mistake you could make right now.

you're right, but you only live once. Not to mention this is probably the only time where he can get a car w/o having to worry about house payments, children, retirement (he's only 21 for god sakes).

He'll be worrying about them a hell of a lot more if he doesn't truly have an income to support an expensive luxury of this type.

the best advice yet. dont make the mistake of getting a new car now. buy something used...something you can afford by not breaking the bank

SRT-4

the RX-8 is sloooooowwwwwwwww

the Boxster is a lot more money... unless I was making like hardcore green, I'd stick wit the SRT and get all the PVO upgrades 🙂

It's really quite impossible for any of us to advise in the matter without knowing his income and stability, but it's a well known fact that an awful lot of people in their 20's sink themselves into debt terribly. Then, should a job loss occur (or their spending simply continues to spiral out of control), they find themselves like millions of others in their 20's up to their ass in debt, totally unable to do what they thought they'd be able to by a certain point, like house, family, etc. Maybe he enters in this group and maybe he doesn't...I would strongly advise anybody at the age of 21 with supposedly such a high income to not buy a car unless they have cash, because it's not like he needs it. It's an admitted luxury.

Buy a 2004 Audi A4 with all the bells and whistles!!!😀

You will not be disappointed and they offer a full 4yr/50,000 mi warranty that covers all routine checkups/oil changes/wiper blades/everything.

Audis are neither fast for the money, nor reliable 🙂

Suze Orman is a very smart woman. And she's right about investing early and how beneficial it can be. But everytime she quotes 10% avg APR I think she's using data from the 80s-90s rather than today's paltry rates. Not to mention the dive the stock market took back when the bubble burst.

But yeah long-term that might straighten out. Well let's hope.

edit: Skoorbitch what do you do for a living to rake in dumpsterloads? Or were you just being sarcastic?
