Should I trade my 2004 WRX Sedan (with 17,200 miles) for a Mazda 6s? I'm getting sick of standard and I heard the Mazda6 is a great car. Opinions on this?

The dealer will just add what you owe on your 04 to your new 05, they only 34k

Yeah I know, but it isn't a huge downgrade. I've been driving a standard for over a year now and to be honest I don't like it too much. I'd rather have a slushbox, and the mazda6 caught my eye.

I found one on Cars.com for 18,500. 2004, Leather interior, heated seats, automatic and only 15k miles. 220 hp too, so it's got some power behind it.

If anything get an Evo, other than that nothing. On second thought I do love the look of the Mazda 6s it's a nice car. It depends what you're looking for in a car. If you're looking for performance, good handling etc, stick with your car. If you want comfort etc go with the 6.

If you're getting an auto transmission, the 2005 Mazda6 has a six-speed tranny (versus a five-speed on the 2004 model. Even the V6 model suffers from lack of low-end torque, so the six-speed tranny would help a little. Also, there are huge rebates on new Mazda6s now and the dealers have to clear out the 2005 models for 2006, so you'll find good deals. Nice car! Too bad the stock stereo can't be upgraded though.

I'm sick of driving a standard, especially when you have a tranny like the WRX (it sucks). Anyone on the board have a mazda6 that can give me their opinion on it?

SoyBoy: I would love to have a Legacy GT, but again, cost becomes a factor :/

You won't be so sick of driving a standard when your car is out of warranty and the clutch only costs $400 compared to the $2500 for the automatic transmission.

Edit: Oh wait you live in Boston. Do you commute during rush hour?
If so I feel sorry for you.
