YACT: Should I pop my own tires ?

I bought 4 31x10.50x15 BF Goodrich all terrains about 2 years ago .

I never rotated them, and now they are vibrating like crazy.

I took them to the shop and they told me that the tires would never be perfect, and if I wanted that I would have to buy new ones.

I got these tires with 50,000 miles of Warranty and Road Hazard from Sears Tire Center.

I called Sears.

They told me that my warranty does not protect me from the wear and tear casued by lack of rotation (since they give the rotation to me for free)

They told me if I were to puncture my tires beyond repair, that they would give me 4 identical replacements, with a minor pro-rate based on the condition of the tires being replaced.

So my question is: Should I pop the tires myself ? if so : How should I do this ?

Break a bottle in your street, drive over it, and then sweep away the excess glass. Or spread some nails on your driveway, point up.

You don't think that would be a little suspicious if you brought in your car with 4 popped tires? Just after you called and talked to them about it?

You don't think that would be dishonest, since it's your fault they were never rotated? :p

They told you to do that? LOL.

Just take a drive around some construction site. When I was building my house, I used to get nails in my tire every week. :|

That's why you go to a different location than the one you called. ;)

I dont think it is their business to investigate if I was the caller from the day before. Plus I called a different location than the one I plan to take my vehicle to.

Well, I am seriously considering being completely honest. Why should they care ? This is Sears...

rofl.. that doesn't sound very ethical to me.. but..

ethics aside, if you pop all 4 tires, how you gonna get the thing back to sears?

anno (aware that there are options, but.. not finding any of 'em attractive)

I have AAA Gold Service. That includes 100 miles of free towing :)

If they told you to do it, go ahead and do it. :p

It's going to look mighty suspicious though. I guess you could just say that some punk kid did it.

Hint: If you put a hole in the sidewall with say a pocket knife, it's not repairable.

Not to mention, should you really be mentioning that you're planning to essentially defraud Sears on an Internet message board? :D

I thought that something so blatant, might be a tad rude.

I was thinking of doing something that made me look like a complete idiot. Like driving over those spikes at the drive-in movie theatre.

Sounds like you were a dumbass, why are are you trying to make them pay for your stupidity?

You had free rotations, you have NO excuse for not getting it done.

Depends. Pay me $50K and we'll talk about it. I've got Sears and the FBI on speed dial. :D

Normally I find myself not agreeing with Viper GTS because he's usually being mean (sorry...but it's true :D). But in this case I'd say he's right on the money. I mean really, you had free rotations and you didn't get it done. And now you want them to pay for tires YOU destroyed because you didn't get them rotated...FOR FREE. Come one now.

I've done semi donuts in my brothers CR-V ... ( previously mine )
if all else fails .. just put some armorall on the bottom of your tires.. and start doing donuts... ( although i dont recommend it you'll be slip and sliding all over the place )
