I have a 94 honda civic, and I think someone probably tried to break into it or something. But the plastic seal for the window is messed up now. So the automatic window no longer stays on its track and leaves a small gap even when it's suppose to be fully closed. It's really annoying when I'm on the freeway because it becomes very noisy. So is the seal something I can replace myself easily or do I need to bring it to the shop?

The plastic you could probably replace youreself. But window regulators are a pain to replace. I wouldnt try to do it myself.

The window regulator is the motor that controls the window right? As far as I can tell, the problem is just because the plastic seal is now bulging out of place that forces the window off its track.

Then you should have no problem peeling it off and resealing.

My drivers window has a few vertical scratches on it. The Mercedes dealer says its the window regulator. They quoted $1050 to replace it and the window with tax and labor...just for a few vertical scratches!

Hopefully its just the plastic. Because otherwise its gonna get pricey.
